Committed to Justice Our World is divided, torn and hurt by evils that hold onto all of us. But the God of justice overcomes evil and reconciles all persons to God and to each other. God invites each of us into this reconciling community so we can be the demonstration here and now of what God intends for all humanity -- binding up the wounds of the world, healing and reconciling persons, giving voices to the voiceless, ending oppression, establishing justice making peace. In committing ourselves to the legacy of God's justice in a hurting world, we become a sign to the world of a new life made available in Jesus Christ.
Intellectually Honest Our Legacy is a community with faith in a God who is always calling us into a high adventure of a hope-filled future. God is always doing new things in history and in our lives, so we delight in examining what is known, discovering what is unknown, and embracing what is worth knowing. With intellectual honesty we seek the truth about our world, who we are and who God is. We like sharing our faith, discussing our questions, pushing for answers, raising new questions. Honest engagement with each other opens our hearts and minds to new understanding.
Liberated by God's Word God's Word liberates us to live fully human lives. Jesus Christ is the supreme expression of God's Word and the Bible is the unique witness to the Word. When we study and reflect upon this written word in the context of the faithful community, each of us is open to experience the freedom we know in Jesus Christ. A legacy of joyful freedom is our gift.
Nutured in Loving Community Jesus Christ left us the legacy of the loving community. As a family drawn together in Christ's love, we learn to nurture each other in the love that delights in forgiving and being forgiven, receiving God's grace and celebrating with gratitude. Our life together nurtures us to become fully mature in God and robust in love.
Dedicated to Service God Draws us into a loving family circle then equips us to be sent out to serve others. The story is not about us, but what God does through us to make and keep human life human. God enables us to offer loving service with all our heart, mind, strength and life. In service, we discover the beauty of one another and all creation.
Welcoming to All Welcome home. Everyone has a place in this household of faith. There are no barriers here. The Great Story of God's love has become our story, and it can be your story too, as we embrace the legacy that claims us, empowers us, opens us to God and each other.
